Sim City Limited and Digital Deluxe Editions

* * * * *
The Origin store reveals two editions of Sim City 2013. Both include extra features, one more so than the other.

That is EXPENSIVE! I hope that the game lives up to it's price tag...
It is idd rather on the expensive side, but hopefully it'll be worth it :-)
Too much, it'll probably be like the Sims 3 where there's too much cost for a few items... (20$ for 20 some items...) I sure hope not, but I really don't think the Digital and limited should be that far apart though...
How much???

...and for a digital download where you don't actually own the game.

No ta - I'll wait for the proper boxed retail version, limited edition or not
What are these heroes and villans?
Maxis are the Heroes and EA are the Villains :)

The game can be pre-ordered at other online distributors. There will also be a physical copy.

But the deluxe version is Origin exclusive, sadly..

Don't worry about missing out on content. In the last couple of years when I think about all the special editions of games I've bought with exclusive bonus content... I can't think of a single one of them where to content wasn't sold as DLC six or so months down the line.
Hell, BF3 had pre-order exclusive stuff that was given out free like a month later. I'd bet that EA will sell it later to wring every available penny out of its customers. I'd buy the disc version if I was going to get it at all. God knows what DRM it will have on it though.
Do we defenitly know that there will be customizable content in the way that it exists with the current game version (4)?

Also if I have issues with performance like I currently do ( And i've run it on both XP and 7) then the big $ are not worth it the price.
If they were gonna let us make custom building then i dont see why they would have german and french sets(im assuming there buildings, street textures, ect.) for sale. I think we might be dissapointed.

If I remember correctly, the physical copy will require Origin as well.
Who needs this if the game is going to be moddable? Or will it?
Super Rip-Off! Too Expensive!
Typical EA to be extortionate. £45 for the normal 'limited' edition, £65 for the deluxe edition, which is the only version that includes British items for people (like me), who live in the UK and would like more British themed towns and cities.

I do like some of what I see in the trailer but the price is too high. Atleast it's started moving towards a gridless design on both roads and buildings.

Would prefer to have the ability to plop more though. Not sure how it is in the US but in the UK most lower class housing and other areas follow a more planned out and uniform look. Quite difficult to build rows of terraced housing in SC4 unless you either use the plop tool and watch them all abandon or have extreme luck and patience with the 'historical building don't change' tickbox.

Really would hope there is a modding community for this though, otherwise I can't see it doing to well since there will be a limited number of features that can only be built upon by EA release expansion packs. Cheaper on other sites for me, but why it should cost alot more on Origin is beyond my knowledge.

EA should be more wary though, since they now have Cities XL to contend with. It's not just Sim City on its own anymore.

@Han Solo, I agree with you. EA (like the greedy bastards they are) will most likley have those country theme set as a seperate DLC as well as some other stuff to keep it profitable. A tangible copy of the game is a good way to go because if they ever do shut down the servers you can use a crack to keep playing it.
I'm not buying anything unless EA provides customization tools like they did for SC4. It's the only reason I bought SC4.

The Heroes and Villains just kills it, IMO. Why go there? I am excited about the prospect of off-grid transportation networks, and zoning, however. I hope customizable content will be possible. If not, the game will simply offer less options than SC4, and we'll instead be enticed with Euro 'theme' packs, for starters, like in the DD version. The price doesn't surprise me, either.
deluxe as hardcopy or no deal...period.
