LGR, the guy who made the SimCity retrospective, Reviews SimCity (2013)

- - - - -
After a decade of waiting, the next SimCity is finally here! From the perspective of a lifelong enthusiast, is it any good? Er, you may want to sit down for this one.

The SimCity retrospective if you haven't seen it:

now this is a review, it lays out everything, not like the ones you see on mainstream game sites, which awards EA with 9 out of 10 for no reason.

Always trust the man with glasses, beard, and massive collection of games dating back to the 80s and 90s.

Yep...what he said.

That was an excellent review. Maxis need to see this review.

Thank you for making me aware of that retrospective. It was both nice to look at for nostalgic reasons and very informative - I didn't know about half of all these editions, ports, addons, and whatnot.

The review... well, sounds like a true gamer and a true SimCity fan, that guy. His review confirms much of what I have seen here and much of what I feel myself - sadly.

fully enjoyed both reviews, informative and clear. I also learn new things about the simcity franchise and it was nice to see a blast from the past.

Ya the ending is great.

If you notice on the DVD case the game is rated E-10, but you need to be 13 to use Origin.

....Huh?

i've been watching LGR for years now and he gets better and better with each video. He states very good points and he knows what he is saying. This video tells you he is not biest.

A full review and definitely not fullsome.  I have serious doubts about whether the damage will be ever under control let alone fixed.

I think this glassbox engine that they are so in love with is the core of the problem.  Not suited for simulations of this magnitude.  They've made a huge corporate mistake, and we'll see who gets to carry the can.

Shouldn't it be rated T if you need to be 13+ to use Origin? :?

A very fair review which I am sure Maxis will not bother to do anything with...

That game is for 13+, huh?

Isn't it supposed to be played by 5-10 years old kids?

An excellent, unbiased review which accurately and coherently states the facts.

Thanks for sharing.

The game itself is rated E10+. However, Origin is for 13+. Since the game is only available through Origin, it is defacto 13+.

I am glad he spoke about the power and water agents. Many times have I watched power flow to a 2 way junction and only take one path, leaving my refinery without power. The game also doesn't have endurance for me. My city is successful, but after less than 10 hours of playing it, I am tired of it.

Yup...sorry to say but his review is true.  Come on SIMCITY get with the program and give the consumer what they want...A CITY BUILDING GAME!...not a village building game!
