I was thinking:

GDP (XL) = (Expenses of Services + Environment + Transportation + city) + (imported cash tokens - exported cash tokens) * ( 100% + general satisfaction) / population

(note: Utilities not included since they can be exported)

In my case = 2'191'855€ * 162,5% / 2'116'340 pop = 1,682 GDP (XL)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Im really unsure about this - do anyone have any other suggestions?
What would your GDP be with that formula?

GDP stands for Gross Domestic Product, which isn't necessarily the same thing as standard of living. The GDP is the total value of all goods and services (products) made within a country in one year.

I think in Cities XL, your GDP would be the total number of stuff you produce (the things that become trading tokens when you have a surplus or deficit). I only played the beta, so I don't remember what kinds of graphs and charts Cities XL has, but if it has a chart for those things, then the GDP would be all of those things added together. Since in the game, population/labor is actually an exportable good with a value, I think it would make sense to include population in the GDP.

For standard of living you would probably go by how well people's leisure, education, etc. demands are met.

No, thats right, GDP isnt a measurement of the standard of living, but its very often used as such an indicator. And that what I wanted to see if I could find a formula for, therefore I added in the general satisfaction (environment, education, service and transport).

I remember during beta that MC calculated som kind of wellfare status of a city by taking the income divided by the pupulation. I feel that its totaly wrong way to go since most cities are more of a company rather than a country or a real city and where our goal is to make cash rather than give the tax back to its peoples.

The real GDP is impossible to calculate in CIties XL so we need some kind of workaround.

Bah, I created a small city and it looks like my formula isnt fair. My smaller city was way off with almost 6,100 GDP. Thats six time more than my 2 milion city.
This cant be used.
