Whoops - so many new posts.  For some reason, I hadn't seen that there were new posts. I was totally suprised to see a new upload on the STEX, when there hadn't been anything new in the thread for a while... or that was what I thought.

andisart - thanks - one of my main goals is to make these distinct, but not to stand out against standar Maxis lots, as well as the work of others.

pingangster - thanks for the thumbs up!

citybuilder12 - it's my hope to do a sleazy motel or two (the kind that rents "by the hour") for one of these.  Stay tuned, and keep popping in here to see when/how many I get around to doing.

benvoliothefirst - my "ego," huh?  LOL...everyone needs a good ego massage every now and then.  As to your word about the theatres, I do agree to a point - but the natural progression was to do arthouses, then grindhouses, and then adult theatres; the OCD in me wanted them all lined up in the same area when you clicked on my uploads, so I sort of had to do them in order.  Though I must admit I had the name of another scribbled in my head, but couldn't bring myself to modelling, texturing, and lighting another one (it would have been the 19th, or 20th if you count the yet-to-be released Rialto Theatre.)  The "seventh veil" was a reference to Salome, who danced the dance of the seven veils in order to entice John the Baptist.  (I do love silent films, but must confess I've never seen the old one with this title.)  With that in mind, and with some research of a similar strip joint with that name, I came up with this one - it's supposed to be very exotic, almost faux-Persian or faux-Indian in its details.  And don't let your girlfriend catch you dancing at Dudez, haha!  Thanks for your enthusiasm for these and my previous works, both here in the thread as well as in the comments section of the indivdual uploads...

panthersimcity4 - yeah, I like to have a sleazy area of town in my larger cities - makes for some more realistic gameplay.  Thanks for posting!

jasoncw and nofunk - 8 Mile, huh?  I should look it up and see if I can get some good research of it.  Thanks for the posts!

kellydale2003 - LOL thanks for the post - I won't tell your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend...haha

T Wrecks - yeah, I've been a busy bee, huh?  Lots of new stuff to peruse...I was hankering to get some more NIMBY on the STEX, and I guess you could say this first pack is an opening salvo of sleaze...hahaha...thanks for your continued support and encouragement!

Another strip club, this one most likely a low wealth.  Grab your singles and give a hoot and holler for the Blue Moon Go-Go Bar..."go, baby, go!"

I'm sure I have another one of these in my head somewhere, to round out this pack.  We shall see...

citybuilder12 and Aaron Graham - thanks

Here's the last couple of strip clubs, which will round out the Naughty NIMBY Pack Volume 2.  The first, Artie's Jiggle Joint, will be low wealth, while 'Mount Olympus' Gentlemen's Club will most likely be medium wealth.

I like keeping them in "themes," as it were...the first volume was adult theatres, this second volume with be strip clubs, and so forth...

Beautiful. Are you using any existing places for inspiration, or do these just spring forth from your well-developed imagination? The Mount Olympus club reminds me of Tens Showplace in Salisbury Beach, MA. I mean, uh... I go there for the articles. CRAP!

Evillions - well, these are pretty PG-rated, nothing too overt.  I'm sure the kiddies have seen worse, haha...

nofunk and SimHoTToDDy - LOL, glad I got a laugh out of you guys - thanks for the comments.

benvoliothefirst - I do have a lot of images that I've found on the web for all of my BATs, and some of it's my imagination or whatever requirements arise (such as lot size, lot configuration, wealth level, etc.)  The front facade for Artie's is based off a regular bar near where I live - I just added the Carmen Electra sign above it (haha).  The Mount Olympus club is based in part off a place somewhere in Vegas, or at least the alcove/awning/lighting scheme is.  I'll have to google Ten's Showplace...yeah, right, the "articles," they always go there for the "articles."  LOL...thanks for popping by...

Okay, The Naughty NIMBY Pack Volume 2 has just been uploaded to the STEX.  Here's a couple of in-game screenshots (at night, of course!)

I think the third volume will be adult bookstores and videostores.  I have a couple in progress that I'm not happy with, which is why I moved on to doing the strip clubs...hopefully I will have something worthy of posting soon...

T Wrecks - yeah, the articles...yeah, sure, I read them...

Well, now it's time for "the articles," as it were.  This next volume will be adult bookstores, video stores, and novelties.  So far, I've gotten three to a workable state.  Here we have Ned's Adult Newsstand, Dirty Dave's Discount DVD, and Spanky's 24-Hour XXX Shop...

I'm rather pleased with the newsstand - so much so that I'm thinking of revamping it a little, and releasing a normal, non-NIMBY version - maybe I'll make it into a corner newsstand, and open up the east side of it as well.  I must say that I'm happy with all the little details - the newspaper bundles, the soda machines to the side, the little stool...however I don't think I'm happy with the awnings - I think I need to up their saturation and color levels - I was trying to go for that faded look, but they seem a bit anemic compared to the rest of my stuff and the Maxis content...we shall see...

I'm on the fence with Spanky's - at least name-wise.  It may be a little too "blue" and irreverant.  But if I keep it, I guess I would have to add a companion to it, called Chubby's?   *rimshot*

How do you get that inside nightlighting you have? Did you modeled the inside too and used an omni-light?

These are great. I really like the Newstand too and would love a non-nimby version. One very small comment, I noticed the top two windows on the lefthand side of the newstand aren't lit up, but there is light hitting the window frames. I know how big a pain that can be to address and if you leave it, it's no big deal, but I thought I would mention it anyway

Awesome work as usual! I really like the way you've done the flourescent lights around the windows... gives it that hint of Amsterdam red-light style advertising, reminds me of stumbling home bleary-eyed from the bars. Seedy but not overtly so. Hey, "Seedy's" might work as a substitute for "Spanky's"... or you could use "Willy's"... the Brits and (maybe?) Aussies would laugh at the overt reference, and the rest of us probably wouldn't notice a thing unless we watched a lot of BBC comedies growing up. ;-)

Evillions - there's some slight modelling of the interior, mainly any major furniture piecesAa, and then a couple of omnis thrown in.  Most of the detail is just textures on the floor - random photographs to give it a little difference and interest, more than a flat color or texture.

Aaron Grahan - thanks!

spa - yeah, I'm thinking there will be a later, down-the-road, non-NIMBY version of the newsstand; I'm just so pleased with the end result, I'd hate to see people bypass it because they're scared of a little NIMBY.  I know what you're talking about with the upper windows - they have a windowblinds texture with partial opacity, that isn't working, but some of the light is creeping through.  It's on my fix-it list.  Thanks for popping in the thread and for your encouragement...

benvoliothefirst - yeah, the whole "red light" feel is partly what I was going for on some of these.  That and the old New York City 42nd Street, now totally gone because of the Disneyfication of the area in the 1990's.  I won't get into where you were stumblin' home from in Amsterdam..haha (yeah, sure, "the bars," uh-huh)  If I were truly perverse, and maybe I am, I would have Spanky's, Chubby's, and Willie's all as part of this pack - but maybe it's a bit of overkill?  But, as Letterman says, "anything worth doing is worth overdoing."  Thanks for posting

Yet another for the next wave of naughty NIMBY adult stores - this one is 'Pleasure Island' Adult Novelties...

I'm not sure on this one - the modelling is okay and I like the details, I'm just not in love with the color scheme.  Maybe the awning is too pink and bright.  I haven't figured out what I want to do with it sign-wise - maybe it will be in lettering on the awning, or maybe a rooftop billboard, or maybe just neon lettering along the top edge of the front walls.  We'll see what pops into my head...

Here's a couple more, to round out the set of video and bookstores.  Presenting 'The Brown Bag' Bookstore and Pervy Pete's Peep Show...

T Wrecks - alone?  Where's the fun in that??? LOL  (That reminds me of that quote from one of the Woody Allen movies, where one character says to his/her spouse, "I feel like having sex, but we don't have enough people here.")

Delecto - a BAT machine, perhaps - or maybe I have too much time on my hands.  Glad you are enjoying these little guys...

citybuilder12 - I guess if I'm generating only emoticons for some peoples' posts, I must be doing something right.  Heheheheheh...

It's sleazy.  It's horrible.  It's dirty.....and I want it.  The Naughty NIMBY Pack Volume 3 is hitting the STEX.  If you're in the mood to rent Amazon Vixen Love Stories, or snag the next issue of Bare Butt magazine, then download it!  Here's some screenshots of those lots in-game and "in action," as it were...

I feel so......twisted and perverse.  Do you think BATting more of these will grow hair on my palms?  I'm willing to risk it...

I am thinking for my next set (and possibly the last, but never say "never") I'll be doing a massage parlor, a bathhouse, a seedy motel, and an escort service building.  But right now it's just stuff tumbling around in my brainstorming head...we shall see...
