| Hi, Wolfie from England here. Believe it or not, a brand new SimCity player. I have been playing Transport Tycoon Deluxe, and I was looking for something new and a friend suggested it. I have the SimCity4 Deluxe Rush Hour Edition. OK first question. Which version of the NAM download do I require? Clicking on the link on the site takes me to an upgrade, but it doesn't tell me where to get the main download. A search on the site finds lots of different versions. Can someone post the definitive link please. And what other downloads would people advise? Is there one to make the cars drive on the left like there is in TTD? |

| Um, about the NAM, get the June 2009 one. It has two versoins: Mac and PC, depending on your needs. Here it is! http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/?p=files&cat=Essential%20Modds&page=1 This has NAM PC and NAM Mac! About the left side of the road, that hasn't happened JUST yet, I don't think. Maybe the STEX has something. I got a weird NAM so only the turn lanes were in the left lane. It looked weird. Hope this helps. See ya, citiesxlfan42 |
I don't think the glass is half full or half empty. I just drink it all and I'm still thirsty. |
| Welcome, eWolf, to Simtropolis and SC4... OK first question. Which version of the NAM download do I require? Clicking on the link on the site takes me to an upgrade, but it doesn't tell me where to get the main download. A search on the site finds lots of different versions. The June 2009 version of NAM is the newest - with an upgrade in July. The links above will get it. The driving side is determined by the version of the game you have. The NAM does not determine it, but is compatable with both - just be sure to select the appropriate option in the setup. To check your version, just run the game and see which side the vehicles use. There is no 'mod' that switches driving sides, but there is a way to switch it depending on what version you have. Do you have a right-hand version? Also, since you mentioned that you just got the game, you might want to be sure to get the game patch for Deluxe along with the patch for nightlights to show. They are both available at the official site or at SC4Devotion (use the Support link). You might also want to check out the New Members Information forum as well as just browsing around and, as always, just ask if you need assistance. CaptCity |

| I would download lots and lots of stations. I personally get bored quickly with the existing stations.
I'm really into transit, and so I feel that no two commuter/long distance train stations should look the same. Also, different cities will often have the same tram, subway, or elevated rail station styles, but these will change city to city. (or if, you're doing a historical piece, then a cities stations would change by neighborhood. I do this a lot in my City Journal). When you search on the STEX for downloads, used different search terms. For stations, I would search: station stop depot terminal tram rail Amtrak metro subway el elevated rail trolley light rail You get the idea! |
Check out my City Journals of Eastern Balboa and Central Syldav and have yourself a great time on our humble island!

| This thread on SC4D has the best overview with "tutorial" on how to adjust driving sides and integrating it into your version and language... I'm not sure but you may have to register to read it |
